Amorphous Affair

My left hemisphere is grieving for an invisible lover
Of lost notes and floating melodies
Monochromatic feelings of hawk skins and neon senses
The rusted key was stolen-
– Someone took the rusted key
and used it to open the back of my head
Lies, deception, treachery
Fear
Hope
Love.

My left hemisphere is grieving for a love once ashore.
Of broken bones and blacks and blues and purples
Slurred confessions of I love yous buried beneath
– never truly meant
Crack – crack – crack
Red and brown and everything is copper, gold, silver
– metallic
Knuckles white hard enough to frame my antipathy

Your head dangles from my fingertips
Drip drip drip
Your body across forever.
